Sleek Ladies Laptop Bags vs. the Bulky Man Bag

This past Mother’s Day I got more than just flowers and breakfast in bed. I was surprised with a shopping day at the Mac store for a brand new Apple MacBook Pro with all the bells and whistles. After years of being stuck behind my desktop computer, I was now going to be “free” to do my work anywhere! Now all I needed was a snazzy ladies laptop bag to make my business portable!

At first I tried to squeeze my 17″ dream machine into a 15″ laptop bag my friend gave me. It barely fit by itself, let alone trying to squeeze in my mouse and plug. To my delight, a big present came for my birthday. So I dug deep down in the tissue stuffed decorative gift bag to reveal what I thought would be a sleek, designer laptop bag. Can you guess what I got? What I eagerly pulled out was a big, black, bulky, suitcase I have now named “my man bag!”

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a really nice laptop bag with multiple compartments, sturdy handle and strap, plus it’s x-ray friendly so traveling by plane is a breeze. It’s what every man would envy. My husband, bless him for trying, told me to bring it back if I didn’t like it. Functionally, I did like it. And I totally appreciated his thought, and its super features. But, as a woman, the big black “man” laptop bag didn’t exactly make a fashion statement!

Heck, I’m a woman. We like our accessories to be functional and pretty!

Even though the market has a ton of stylish laptop bags for men, women want something that pops! We want ladies laptop bags that match our personality, if not our wardrobe.

laptop-tote-bags-17-shine-pinkWomen’s laptop bags should be more sleek, with a classic design, and come in various colors. A great example of sophisticated laptop bags are the designs by “Ice Red.” They have a mod-looking bag called “Shine” that features a high-quality glossy vinyl with a classic yet futuristic appeal.

One choice is a pink laptop bag that really makes a statement! With lots of pockets for storage, including an easy-access area for cell phones and other valuables, this bag will carry your laptop securely while you turn some heads as you walk by. Now that’s what I’m talking about!

Please, ladies, when it comes to buying a laptop bag, it’s your time to shine! Don’t be afraid to express yourself. Be bold, colorful and fashionable. Be YOU!

It’s not just a black and gray world out there… sometimes it’s pink!

Here is a another gal who prefers sleek over bulky ladies laptop bags:

    • little miss may » the perfect companion – I’ve yet to buy the ultimate bag to carry my baby around. Sure, I could just pick one of those typical computer bags from off the shelf of some IT shop, but being the vain pot that I am, I’d like to have a more unique carry case than a black one that shouts I’m a laptop bag (no offense to those who do carry these!). These days Mackie is being carried around in various sacks.
